I'm Still Here

Or "Writer's Block, What a Drag"

Saint Jerome Writing [Caravaggio, 1605-1606]:

My original plan was to take a break from blogging at the end of February, not long after the completion of A Year in Film (Part Three).  Just a couple of weeks to unwind, to watch films and record some music without having to concentrate on the difficult task of putting my thoughts into words.  Unfortunately this break of no more than two weeks is now edging closer to two months!  I don't know what happened; I just haven't felt like writing AT ALL.

Today, I finally dusted off the final part of the Year in Film retrospective and I've done a bit of work on it, but it almost feels as if I've lost my voice.  It's like I don't know how to write anymore.  You could argue that I didn't know how to write in the first place, and you'd have a point, but I just can't seem to express what I wanted to say.  I'll try and work my way through this conundrum, but I feel like I need to concentrate more on image-based postings or even some list-making as an attempt to get back into the spirit of the thing.  It's worked in the past so hopefully it can work again.

Apologies if anyone has been curious to see what other films made the final part of the retrospective.  It is in the pipeline and will hopefully be completed as soon as I can reignite that initial spark that made me want to create a film blog in the first place.  All the best.
